Studies on Climate Change and Health in The Last 20 Years

Abstract

Climate change is growing day by day, posing a great threat to the world and human life. For this reason, it is necessary to follow the studies in the field of climate change and health and to direct the studies and policies accordingly. The aim of this study is to evaluate the studies carried out in the field of climate change and health in the last 20 years according to their years and subjects. Study The study was conducted between October-November 2022 using the PubMed database and scientific articles published between 2003-2022 were discussed. In PubMed, MeSH (Medical Subject Headings=Medical Subject Headings) Term was customized as publications with abstracts containing both the terms "climate change" and "health". The publications were evaluated through their summaries and classified according to their subject and year. 1079 studies were evaluated. While 886 articles were published in the ten-year period between 2022-2013, 193 articles were published in the ten-year period between 2012-2003. The first five topics did not change in both decades. The most studied issue in both decades is climate and health-related policies. The issue with the highest increase is the effects of climate change on mental health.
